PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES
Connecting with what really matters
Understanding that mental health is interconnected with various aspects of life, I emphasise a holistic approach that considers physical, emotional, and social dimensions. Together, we'll explore strategies to enhance your overall well-being and resilience. I have over 10 years of experience of working in the NHS and private sector, helping clients to heal, build resilience and connect with what truly matters to you.
All services can be offered face-to-face in either Garstang or Lancaster clinics, or virtually via Skype/Google Meet.
BRIEF TELEPHONE CONSULTATION
An initial complimentary 15 minute telephone conversation will be arranged to discuss your current challenges and how I may be able to help. This will take place before any agreement of work, at a time convenient to you.
ONE-TO-ONE INDIVIDUALISED THERAPY
I use many evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-Insomnia (CBT-I, a specialist approach for sleep difficulties), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Mindfulness. I am able to customise my approach to provide an individualised package of care utilising a variety of modalities to achieve the best results.
IN-DEPTH PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
I am often instructed by Solicitors and Medical colleagues to provide independent in-depth psychological assessments and reports. I work closely with local surgeons to be able to offer specialist Pre-Surgical assessments and post-surgical psychological support. Psychological assessment helps develop a clear understanding of a client's challenges usually conducted over 2-3 sessions either as standalone, or alongside and to help focus Psychological treatment.
CRITICAL INCIDENT STRESS MANAGEMENT (CISM)/ DEBRIEFS
Critical Incident Stress Management, or CISM, is an intervention protocol developed specifically for dealing with traumatic events. It is a formal, highly structured and professionally recognized process for helping those involved in a critical incident to share their experiences, vent emotions, learn about stress reactions and symptoms and given referral for further help if required. It is not psychotherapy. It is a confidential, voluntary and educative process, sometimes called 'psychological first aid'. These sessions/debriefs are often organized for private organisations following a traumatic event and/or loss (e.g. loss of a colleague, a major environmental incident, traumatic event).
